A Moment of Calm

We have all experienced needing a breather to clear our mind for more rational thought. We have all seen those in positions of power needing to do the same. However, calmer heads do not always prevail when faced with a bullish inept boor calling the shots. The childish minded should not be allowed to have what it wants all the time. As I said in my first blog, I will absolutely try very hard to keep out politics no matter how hard that is.

Recently we have to deal with massive forest fires in Canada. Canada has the third largest expanse of forest behind Brazil and Russia. The fires are a result of global warming causing a stronger El Niño which has dried out the forests and caused several heat domes. The stronger El Niño is a direct cause of burning fossil fuels which United States, China and India are the biggest contributors. The forest fires are worldwide but Canada has taken the worst. If we were to be nasty we could make America pay for our damages as they have flung environmental policy out the window in favour of allowing companies to process more fossil fuels.

In conclusion, The Paris Agreement (2015) was an international treaty on climate change which was supposed to be legally binding for 195 countries to bring down emissions to below 2 degrees C global temperature to net-zero…what happened to that? Ask yourself if it even exists anymore or if it was just a pipedream.
